update on Meredith Walsh - news article

Many of you ask us frequently about Meredith.  We appreciate your continued concern and prayers for her.  She's doing fine up in Massachusetts, working toward her nurse practitioner degree at UMass.  She lives in the Worcester (pron. Interestingly, the community where she lives is receiving refugees from the very place she used to work, from Myanmar (Burma) near the Thai border.  Churches and other groups in the Worcester area are working with them.  An article in today's issue of their local paper (URL below) features this work.  In addition to her school work, Meredith is volunteering with the churches who are helping the refugees.  Among other things, she's one of few people around there who knows something about their culture and language.

Meredith will be home Dec. 16 through Jan. 2.  She greatly appreciates the fact that one of the three beneficiaries of the upcoming Angel Tree donations at Prescott will be the Youth Center in Mae Sot that she helped found.  They're in dire need of funds.  Other recipients of the Angel Tree donations are students at our Adopt-A-School, Sherwood, and at Joyce Wood's school, Fairley, where there are also many pressing needs.
