Just a reminder for all Prescott Church people, a gentle appeal from the Emergings editor, especially as we approach the holidays:

 

If you're in charge of, or know something about, any event that will take place in our church building, or church-related activities outside the building, please be sure to give me info about it as much in advance as possible unless you want to limit the communication to people whom you plan to contact yourself (e.g., invitation-only events).  That way I can let the entire church body know about it through newsletters and other publications.  We have a lot coming up in the next few weeks and things get confusing around the holidays, so it's especially important right now to keep our calendar current and forward-looking.

 

NOTE:  If you put something on the church calendar in the office or call someone in the church office, that doesn't mean I have it in my office, where the newsletters and emailed announcements are usually prepared and distributed.  You need to contact the church office with these things, especially to make sure there's no schedule conflict with another event, but while you're doing that, please include me in the info distribution.  My email is twa...@fordharrison.com, work phone 291-1552 (which has voice mail -- let it ring a while first).

 

The kind of info I need are the usual journalistic things:

 

WHAT -- What is it?  Does it cost anything?  Is childcare provided?   

WHO --  Who's doing it?  Who's invited to it?  Are volunteers needed, and if so, to do what, and whom should they contact if they want to volunteer?

WHEN -- Beginning and ending time, and if it's off-site, when & where to meet.

WHERE -- If off-site, any directions?  Rides needed?

WHY -- What's it for, e.g., worship, education, ministry, fellowship, fundraising, some combination thereof?

 

Many thanks for your attention to these communication details, which are so important to the life of our congregation.
