Dr. Byrne is a political scientist and human rights activist. He holds
a Ph.D. in Political Science from UCLA, and teaches Buddhist meditation
in the DC area. Dr. Byrne will discuss how he balances traditional
academic concerns with spiritual and humanitarian work, and explain how
meditation can be used to engage in civil rights work and foster social
justice. He will also lead the group in meditation exercises.
