Apologies for the delayed response - busy week!

I'll definitely have a look into how easy it would be to integrate
freeframeGL into the current OpenGL pipeline. The example you sent is
interesting, though is something I'd like to see as a built in Praxis
component - the OpenGL pipeline already has code that can achieve

There are many, but not hundreds out there.. enough maybe to make it worth
while.
Any sort of tutorials you can add to your blog would be great.. Praxis is
making me thing I will have to get into processing finally.

Hi,

It's a possibility I'll keep in mind. However, much of the work I'm
doing at the moment is concentrating on the OpenGL pipeline, and I'm
loathe to put too much time into things that can't be accelerated at
the moment - maybe need to investigate freeframegl more - are there
many GL plugins?

Great framework.. I am really enjoying getting started with it.
a have a few things I would love to see added.
1: support for freeframe (maybe freeframegl later ;), this would give you a
lot of pixel effects
2: as a gui item, and perhaps in the applications gui as well.. a video
preview panel.. that will show the video passing thru the active cord. Or

I just want to say praxis is great.
I have been using other patching software for some time.. and although
praxis doesn't have everything I want (yet), the performance is great.
The interface, is intuitive and easy to learn... and I feel right at home
using it.
Can't wait for the next update!!

Praxis has had very little testing on any OSX so far, though that should
change next month. Is there even Java 6 available for the G4?

is mainly a bug fix release, it does see the Praxis command line
player added to the main installation, and work which paves the way

Yes, I'm guessing, and your point about JVM is important - I hadn't
realised that was such an issue.

No, it suited that setup, which was of a 'master' unit overseeing the
whole performance, but isn't essential.

Yes, might do that. I'm based in Bedford so Oxford isn't far.

I'd be tempted to dispute that comparison - with little evidence to hand! :)

The main issue is one of x86 vs ARM, and the low performance of free
JVMs on ARM. AFAIK the standard Fedora install for the Pi only has an
interpreter-only JVM, which is no good. Debian might be better as it

It would definitely be for low-end versions such as a couple of audio
streams, and yes, probably a sledgehammer - but it's often useful to
be able to use the same tool everywhere, and the small boards are
getting more powerful (r-pi is perhaps comparable with a 5 year old
recycled pc ?)

I'm guessing at how things work as I haven't looked deeply into it.

Praxis might not be the answer here. Sledgehammer to crack a nut
comes to mind! It's not really aimed at running on embedded hardware,
and you've got the problem that the current free JVMs on ARM aren't
that fast. It might be interesting to see if it were possible to get

OK. I know little of the maths behind FFT ... yet. :-)
The difference in rate would be the problem. Having audio buffers
with different sizes running in the same place in the component
hierarchy could be a problem.
So, the options would be for an FFT port type, or for an FFT component
that acts as a container and provides audio buffers of the required

I am using it on a PC running xubuntu. I have not tried it on my G5.
If I remember my math right, the FFT's output (be it cartesian or
phase/magnitude) cart/mag values should be within -1,1 - in the case
