why not just create an RSS open standard that compiles all of a users
profile data among a number of apps?

users (and site developers) can then use that RSS feed to manage
people's data

if a user doesn't want an app to user their data - that app can be
blocked

apps/site developers are still able to create awesome apps , users are

I thought I should post just to let you know that I have almost
finished the first project outline.

Thanks for bearing with me on this one.

Unfortunately the early stages of a project as large as Practical
Portability necessarily involve bottlenecks tied to the guys doing the

The DataPortability Technical Blueprint is basically a collection of
specifications, with each specification describing how to correctly
develop one of the pieces of a DataPortabilty enabled website.

The specifications are not introductions or tutorials. They are sets
of rules about how things should be done. They are not user friendly -
