I think the source of the problem with Circle that was commented out is now
generating the second problem. We should deal with the problems in order. So
restore the files to to original state so we can work from the same page.

Let's also make sure we are talking about the same program: the first
example from chapter 12 in section 12.3 (chapter.12.3.cpp) and draws a
polygon on the window. If this is for a different example, please specify
the section and file name for it.

So restore all the sample code to the original versions and recompile.

I'm working with a pervious version of Visual Studio (2008) bit I don't
think that is the issue.

Aside: The library code needs a version number to help track these things..
