A link to the Open Farm Tech Project as discussed at Beer and Bytes.
There is more to open source than Linux these days!

Hey!

Thanks a lot, I was searching this morning and good only find stuff
about Open Farm Day so far.

For those who couldn't make it last night we had about 12 to 15
attendees and it seemed to me that there is a potential for a lot of
interesting topics to come.

We'll put pplug.net soon and add a planet for a start, then there are a
few discussions to have about where to meet (cheap and good place for
the group).

Thanks for everyone who has joined.

Fred

Great stuff...   I love their compressed brick machine...  seems to compare to hyrdraform's   www.hydraform.com

this is surely getting off Linux...  there are already many forums on related issues...  growing up as a farmer my introduction to technology came from fixing and innovating..

just do a  Google search for appropriate technology and  you will see a long list of related topics...   rather than open source farming the long used term is "appropriate",  in Anthropology it is call indigenous... or  locally sustainable...

if you are into this stuff there are many such ventures in Cambodia...   from integrated farming in Battambang to inedible oils production in Pursat

check out these...
