to PowerTalk
Hi
Have downloaded powertalk and got it working is it possible to
automatically move between slides in powerpoint when adding the
narrative at present it will read the first slide and then wait for me
to move to the next slide on a mouse click. When I play the
presentaion back it also waits for a mouse click to move to the next
slide. I have tried using the slide timing in powerpoint but can't get
this to work
while I am using powertalk.

The first thing to realise is that PowerTalk does not control
PowerPoint in anyway other other than starting your presentation.
Rather, PowerTalk just sits there waiting for PowerPoint to say there
is new text displayed, and then it speaks it. When you design a
presentation PowerTalk is not even running. This boils down to any
behaviour you want has nothing to do with PowerTalk, rather you need
to find the right features in PowerPoint and expect that when you run
the PowerTalk will keep up.

If I understand you correctly, you want the slide to automatically
move to the next slide without you pressing a key or clicking mouse?

To do this you set up a transition with no effect and to happen after
a certain amount of time. The exact way you do this will depend on
which version of Ppt you have. For example in the attached example I
simply right clicked on the slide I want to move on from in the left
hand slide list and selected 'slide transition' in the menu. Then
under 'Advance slide' I selected 'Automatically after' and entered 4
seconds.

If you try the attached presentation in PowerTalk (or PowerPoint) it
will automatically move on after 4 seconds

One thing to keep in mind is that PowerPoint does not wait for
PowerTalk to stop speaking . So you need to get the timing right and
that can vary from machine to machine if the speech speed or voice has
been set differently.

I hope that helps
