I want a certain note to be able to hold across a bar (for 2 measures)
without stroking it again, but I can't figure out how. The "tie"
button becomes unpressable when I select two notes in different
measures....

Position your cursor at the start of the staff you want to assign
the new guitar, click the "Gtr In" button above the main window.
From there you can select which guitar goes in the staff.

i can add the guitars in set up & adjust tuning. then i can "add
staves" but i dont know how to assign a guitar to a new staff. even if
i tab harmonies it will only play one track. help?

When I enter notes in powertab they aren't immediately played. That
is, if I enter a 3 on the A string, I would like to hear a B played.
When I play back a tab, it works so the midi is fine. Is there a
setting to do this?

I think Power Tab would be amazing on the iPhone. Being able to play
and create tablature in Power Tab on my phone would be pretty much the
most kick-ass thing ever. I would even pay for it.

All the toolbars on the top and bottom are to the left and therefore
makes the top and bottom very big and the tabs small. The is extra

This is non-standard tab stuff and I'm quite confused as to what it

Pitch change in tab + narrow 16ths notes

Sometimes when I write 16th notes, the space between the two
"bars" (you know the bars on the staves of 16th notes?) gets narrow
(more than usual) and the note played is higher than it's supposed to.

Powertab Crashes!! :(

I just recently cleaned my computer and re-added PTE. I upgraded my
Vista from Home Basic to Ultimate. When I ran Home Basic I never had a
problem with crashes(freezes) in PT. Now, I open PTE import a song and
click play. As soon as I click play PTE locks up and it doesn't
respond. I went to MIDI settings and clicked on one of those notes in

You'll need to make additional bars for the rhythm during the solo. So there'll always be as many rhythmbars as leadbars. There are two, umm... let's call them "channels" for each score. There is one guitar-channel, where all guitartabs for the song/score is, and one bass-channel, where the basstab is. When you start the program, the guitar-channel is currently on the screen, to access the bass-channel, click on one of the icons above. The icons are music markers that I don't know the names of, but anyway these buttons have a blue background. The left one represents the guitar-channel, and the right one the bass-channel. Click on the right one to open the bass-channel.

I am trying to create a tab for a bass score.

How do I do that?

I tried changing the settings of the guitar as follows:

* Guitar | Setup
* Clicked on the 4 strings icon
* Changed the pitch of the 4th string to G
* OK

But then I still see a staff with 6 strings.

What am I doing wrong?

The files are downloaded in a zip file. You may have better luck if
you unzip the files into a temporary directory, then install from
there.

Double click on the setup file. There should be a file named something like this: setup.zip or setup.exe
That will install the program for you. I have downloaded many powertabs from ultimate-guitar.com, and they always work. Try to download that song from ultimate-guitar.com instead.

Hey, I set up a new guitar as 4 strings with the midi set as violin,
yet when I try to use guitar in to add it to the staff, its not

i guess you could either put rests in between the measures of the rhythm or
you could put the rhythm in the bass staff.

Hey I'm trying to transcribe a song with a part that has a lead with a
different number of measures as the rhythm part. I can't seem to get
it so the top staff is different from the bottom connected staff. Is
there a way to do this?

You can adjust the space in a measure by pressing the minus- or plus-
buttons.
Hitting the minus button few times will give you some more space.
When finnished use the score polisher in tools.
