I posted months ago asking how to get my playback to sound like a guitar. Is there another Midi I should be using??
I have other software (ie: D'Accord chord finder that plays a real guitar sound and not some cheap synth sound.
I'd like very much to get my Powertab songs to sound like a guitar.
Can someone please let me know IF this is even possible??
Other than this I love the software and would recommend it highly!

its not possible with power tab, power tab only uses midi sounds. other software (like Guitar Pro) have realistic guitar sounds, but they arent open source, Guitar Pro is about €60 i think

I haven't used the D'Accord stuff, but given that they seem to be a
commercial organisation, I suspect they've developed stuff that either
uses sampled sounds or a decent synthesised implementation.

Powertab however is free software that outputs MIDI information to a
MIDI device. If the only MIDI device you've got on your system is the
Microsoft Software Synthesiser then the sound is going to be pretty poor.

You could take a look at:

You could presumably download some standalone software synths from
somewhere that will accept MIDI input , then use something like LoopBe1
(http://nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html) to connect the output of Powertab to
the input of the soft synth.
