aha... ok, i think i get it. I had asked for someone to help me
transcribe the 50 from the book, and thought you were doing that-
couldn't figure out why you'd do the last 17 and not the last 20,
    LOL...

Possibly...but to reason this out let us ask ourselves which is more dangerous

So I cleaned up the list a little, but we're still three short. Once
we have all fifty I'd like to propose that one of us (and I'll
volunteer) reorganizes them into a more logical grouping of smaller
lists. Such as: Indoor, outdoor, dependent on other factors (weather
or chemicals), sharp, etc. - you get the idea I hope. I'd also like to
suggest that we consider merging some of the ideas we came up with
ourselves and/or cutting out some of the original 50. Nothing says we
have to stick to the original list right?

    Thoughts?

    1. Lick a battery
    2. Play in a hailstorm
    3. Master the perfect somersault
    4. Kiss hello like the French
    5. Stick your hand out the window
    6. Drive a nail
    7. Drive a car
    8. Throw a spear
    9. Make a bomb in a bag
    10. Play with the vacuum cleaner
    11. Throw rocks
    12. Play with dry ice
    13. Boil water in a paper cup
    14. Put strange stuff in the microwave
    15. Throw things from a moving car
    16. Drop from high places
    17. Burn things with a magnifying glass
    18. Walk home from school
    19. Stand on the roof
    20. Squash pennies on a railroad track
    21. Spend an hour blindfolded
    22. Bend steel
    23. Break glass
    24. Construct your own flying machine
    25. Look at the sun
    26. Learn dramatic sword fighting
    27. Make a slingshot
    28. Climb a tree
    29. Perform on the street
    30. Dam up a creek
    31. Use a Ladder
    32. Cut some wood
    33. Use a fire extinguisher
    34. Cook a meal

OK, but the original intent was to get the 50 from the fifty-dangerous
book into text. I'm all for making our list too, but wanted to just
get those into one place, so here's THAT:

    31. Go underground
    32. Change a tire
    33. Dive in a dumpster
    34. deconstruct an applicance
    35. go to the dump
    36. poison your friends
    37. fly your homemade kite in a gale
    38. learn tightrope walking
39 cook something in the dishwasher
    40. find a beehive
    41. cross town on public transit
    42. break the recipe rule book
    43. whittle
    44. make a rope swing
    45. play with fire
    46. super glue your fingers together
    47. melt glass
    48. explode a bottle in the freezer
    49. sleep in the wild
    50. your project

OK- here are the others folks have added (not realizing i was just
asking for help typing Gevery Tulley's stuff in).

I hereby claim this to be the CHARLOTTE LIST for POWERED KIDS until
one of you comes up with a better name

    31. Use a Ladder
    32. Cut some wood
    33. Use a fire extinguisher
    34. Cook a meal
    35. Cast something out of concrete
    36. Lift 100lbs (ropes, pulleys, levers, etc)
    37. Drop an egg from someplace high without breaking it.
    38. Solder some wires together to make something work.
    39. Make something that floats and can support 2 people
    40. Clean a fish
    41. Call 911
    42. Rappel and/or Tyrolean Traverse
    43. Change a tire - Car or Bike
    44. Paint something
    45. Use an air compressor
    46. Set off some firecrackers
    47. Make and use a pair of stilts

    try alcohol
start a fire with a magnifying glass
    sleep under the stars

I'm with you on merging the list- just wanted a starting point (and
i'm a bit OCD about completing things, so feel like i got to make sure
    they ALL get done... lol).

I also agree we should organize... i almost envision a gartner magic
quadrant- maybe difficulty against cost against danger against
    weather... wait, too many axis...

So here's a rough shot at organization:

Thing with your body (headstand, juggle, tightrope, armpit farts)
    Tools
    - hand tools
    ---(list of hand tools here)
    - power tools
    ---(list of power tools here)
    In the kitchen
    - cooking
    - preparing
    In the yard
    - treehouses
    - climbing trees
    - digging holes
    - starting fires
    - putting out fires
    In the water
    - swim fully dressed
    - dive for something heavy
    - float for a long time

etc... (note these are just off the cuff examples)

Or we could just do the semantic thing and tag everything:

Learn to slackline - tags: body, balance, outdoors, equipment,
    webbing, caribeaners
Make deviled eggs - tags: egg, food, kitchen, ziplock bag
Sleep under stars - tags: camping, outdoors, sleep, bed, weather

That is probably more flexible, but doesn't help organize on a sheet of paper...

So take these and improve on them.

but i'm going to commit to a new idea with every post i make so:

    - make instant ice (per video) by freezing water and not having it crystallize
    - make a rocket stove (and boil water on it)
    - learn SODIS to purify water
