Hey all you PPPRS people out there!

I don't think we can reasonably have Power Wheels on Ice this year, as cars a falling thought the Ice right now.

So instead, we would like to invite anyone that wants to come to Minneapolis for some pre-season fun to come on up for our Minne Maker Faire on April 12th and 13th. We will have booths and tables setup for people to demo their things (hacker spaces?), we even tend to have a live band or two and beer after the Saturday show day. We are also going to rent a parking lot around our hackspace, and setup some cones (or something) for a pre-season fun for all race/demo.

It would be really sad for us to have just two cars racing, maybe you could help bring in the maker spirit by joining us! Our booth registration will start this Saturday, and we will throw up a form for unofficial PPPRS.

We have two cars, and would love to have a few more teams come on by! I know that Madison is super close (Sector67), and maybe even Milwaukee and Chicago could make it too. As far as team accommodations, we should have at a minimum floor and couch space for people to crash at nearby.

That's all!
Hope that folks can make it!

I'll see if I can rally any Milwaukee Makerspace folks to attend... (and race!)

Since this is a non-sanctioned event (and more of a demo) would you allow a 16 year old to race? How about a 14 year old?

As long as they get permission from the parents, and the parents are willing to sign our waiver, I don't see why not.

Did you guys race?  in the snow?

I think this flood may be putting our tight build schedule in serious jeopardy.

Flood you say? Make it a boat race. Go.

Well, I suppose technically you could say Milwaukee Makerspace beat TC Maker, but since we were the only car running, you could also say there was no race. ;)

We just demoed our car a bit on Saturday, and on Sunday the weather was terrible so we stayed indoors. TC Maker just got a new battery charger (they have one 36 volt battery I guess?) but it failed to charge properly.

(And yes, we still had a good time, and I managed to flip our car over in slow motion, or so I'm told.)

I did manage to get the welder and air compressor to higher ground (table saw).
Itll take a while to find all of the electronics I rescued from the basement.  The controller is safe., but who knows when Ill get back to working on it.
