Q: Who can join the PTA? A: Our membership welcomes teachers, staff, parents, grandparents, neighborhood and community friends.

Q: What does it cost to join? A: The annual membership fee is $6 for an individual which helps our organization sponsor enrichment programs for our students including assemblies, field trips, and campus spirit programs.

Q: What are the benefits of joining the PTA? A: PTA at Pony Express is a small but dedicated group devoted to bringing enrichment to our school at which 50% of the students live at or below the poverty line. Our goal is to help enrich the lives of our students by exposing them to events that promote cultural, environmental, and academic understanding–events ranging from bringing a dairy cow to campus, inviting a poet to come and teach kids how to create their own poetry, and bringing African musicians and dancers to perform and talk about the origins of their art.

Q: Why should I join now? A: You can join at any time, but the early campaign for your support allows us to execute planning and ability to sponsor as many programs and events that we would like for our school this year. PTA has also been called upon by our principal and teaching staff to help with necessary school supplies and program assistance given the school district budget crisis, 

Q: How do I join the PTA? A: A membership campaign occurs at the beginning of each school year but you can join at anytime. Look for our PTA membership table on the 1st day of school. Attend our 1st PTA meeting. Look for membership information in the materials your student will bring home the first week.
