On day 2 of my attempt at uberman, I failed to get my alarm set
properly, so I slept in for 4 hours until I would have woken up from
my next nap.

I've been advised that I should stop for a week to let myself reset
and retry next week, or else have a crazy long and painful
adaptation. Does that sound like the best thing to do to you all? Is
7 days about how long I would need to wait, or could I get the same
reset effect with a shorter wait?

For the last 2 weeks, I've been sleeping monophasicly, plus with naps
at all the times I'd normally have to sleep on my uberman schedule. I
think this is why I woke up naturally at the end of my next nap. This
made it really easy to fall sleep for naps from day 1. I think I'll
keep doing this kind of monophasic+naps schedule until I start again
next week, unless you all think it's not a good idea.

No need to stop adapting, as long as you do whatever you can to ensure
that it won't happen again.

I had no idea my first post to the list would take 4 days to moderate.
I've already made the decision to keep going without resetting for a
week. Probably the best decision, in hindsight. I haven't really made
any significant mistakes since then.

I started a blog, which briefly documents my uberman adaptation experience:

Tonight at midnight is the start of my 7th day.

I guess most of us are on holiday

Glad to hear you've had no more mistakes ... good stuff ;)
