marketed brutality
is the world I see,
children too,
even you,

violence is the piper
stupidity follows,
sex is the secret
the world wallows

to make itself appear
loving and free,
and we’re all duped,
even me,

A man risks his life
for another,
neither friend
nor brother,

but the real hero
receives a trophy
for the ‘Play of the Day’
in a game between
Detroit and Green Bay,,,
