Hi John-
It is a long way up there but it sounds good. Do you have any more information on the specifics of composting using charcoal that Larry Williams will present? Thanks!
Kent

Sean Barry is going to make some charcoal in Spokane while on the road
to Bellingham from Stillwater, MN. Larry Williams, Bellingham, will be
with him. Plan is to fire up Sean's kiln on Tuesday morning 9/15 at
the Barr Regional Bio-Industrial Park site at Exit 254, I-90, 30
minutes west of Spokane. Come join us!
Larry Condon, Barr, is providing the site and contributing the 10 yds
of fuel needed: it is CDW (2x4s, pallets, etc.).
Fresh Abundance/P.E.A.C.H. is also participating.
I'll post updates here.

Update: Spokane Biochar Celebration with Sean Barry and Larry Williams

See http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=123090069772 for details and
photos.
We'll be using aspen for the main fuel source.

Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2009
(Although all are invited to join us in setting up the kiln the day
before, and packing it all up the next day, 9/16)
Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm (the main event)
Location: Barr Regional Bio-Industrial Park, Fishtrap Lake Exit 254,
I-90 (see map link: http://bit.ly/ytP17)
Street: Kallenberger Rd N to 47.391667, -117.858333
Phone: 509-844-2944
Email: psmal...@landprofile.com
Twitter: @p5mall #biochar

During the event folks from our local Conservation District, and from
Air Quality will be there.

Post-event I'll be distributing 5 gallon samples from Community Roots
Market at Fresh Abundance. However One World food gardeners may be
interested in trying substantially larger quantities. All should
especially consider sending a pickup truck the morning of the
sixteenth when we divvy it all up! Per a suggestion from Sean, I'll
register recipients, and follow up on their experiences.
