Hei Pradeep,

Try to find out how much time you need to study each knowledge area.
Depending on that, prepare a schedule and see how many days you need to complete your preparation.
I assume that you couldn't complete your first round of prep.
Which books are you studying?
There are few books out there, Headfirst PMP, Rita's, Andy etc.
You should read any two books and it seems one of them should be Rita's.

During your second round, you need to study PMBOK Guide.
Solve as many knowledge area wise questions as you can, from reputed sources.

Once you complete second round, start mock tests.
During mock tests, keep a track of time you are taking.
In my case, it happened that I could complete ALL my mock tests in 2.5 to 3 hours, whereas I took 3 hrs 40 mins in the real test. Pls keep this in mind.
DO NOT be in a hurry to give the test in 40 days.
It may so happen that 40 days is not sufficient, but a few more days, say another 10 days, will make you ready for the exam.
So, schedule the test only if you are very confident of clearing it.

Many people, who cleared their tests, have posted the LLs (Lessons Learned) in the forum. Go through them.
You may find them useful.

If you stay with your family, you need lot of self discipline.
Forget everything else. Going out in the evening, weekends etc.
Exam should be the only thing on your mind.

All the best for your prep and exam.

With Regards

Hi Guys
This is Pradeep from Pittsburgh. I'm new member to this group. Planning to complete PMP by end of April. I started some preparation months back and totally left aside, as I was pretty much occupied with work for long hours. Please suggest me what all key areas to focus for 40 days schedule. I want to complete before end of April as from May again I will  be occupied at work for long hours daily and which I can't concentrate at least till Sept.

Thanks to everyone for posting your Suggestions / Tips/direction  etc.

Thanks
Pradeep

Hi Guys,
Ramesh and I just formed a study group. We are targeting to study from 8-10pm PST. If anyone of you would like to join, please email me at shel...@gmail.com or call or text at 949 632 1213. If you have a 4th edition of the PMBOK to share that would be great.

Thanks,
Shelly

Hello Abhinav ,

I haven't yet scheduled for the exam .

Quick question to all : I will be completing 1 year by jun mid  from the date I registered and paid fee . If I don't take the test in that 1 year span will that amount gets wasted and do I need to pay again later if I want to take .

Please clarify ?

Thanks
Pradeep

I will also suggest you go throug Rajesh Neyer's notes or Choudhary's
notes on PM ZIlla. They were great help to me when I prepared for my
PMP exam.

The best reference notes are your own. None other can beat what you understand and scribe.

I concur with Fai. Do not blindly follow others notes. Know your strength first.
