I thought I would try Singing & Dancing - the product seemed okay but the uninstaller left stuff around that caused problems in my zodb.

So, I found this article http://plone.org/documentation/kb/manually-removing-local-persistent-utilities which is very good -- however, my problem is that I have dots in my path name.

For example, when I vhost a site liked 'mysite.org' I'll create a zodb mount point called 'mysite.org' and put the plone site in that. This causes problems though when using the code to get the plone's site manager object.

This code

'sm = app.Plone.getSiteManager()'

would become

'sm = app.mysite.org.Plone.getSiteManager()'

which clearly won't work in python.

Is there a way to get objects in zodb subfolders that contain 'periods'? This is a huge issue if it is impossible.
