(Also posted to Plone-Users)

As a test I've created a simple, 2 state (draft initial state +
published), 2 transition (publish + retract) workflow via the ZMI.

I have set permissions (Access contents information, Modify portal
content and View) on the transitions and have filled out the 'Display
in actions' box. Each state has the appropriate transition ticked as a
possibility. The 'Destination state' of each transition is set
appropriately and the trigger type is set to 'Initiated by user
action'

I've applied the workflow to document objects via the manage_workspace page.

I can add an item, and the initial state appears correctly in the ZMI,
but the state and transitions *never* display in the Plone
contentactions bar. The object just stays stuck in it's initial state.

What am I doing wrong?!

As is always the case with the ZMI, I'm sure I'm just missing a
checkbox somewhere!

In case anyone missed the Plone-Users reply, the solution is a simple one:

Plone expects the workflow variable name 'review_state', rather than
the out-of-the-box Zope setting 'state'.

You can change it to the former in manage_workspace in the ZMI, it's
the box marked 'Be Careful!'

*mumbles something obscene about 'undocumented features'*

Ouch! I remember being bitten by that in the distant past. Thanks for
following up with a solution.

Cheers,
Dan

undocumented? Plone? Shurely some mishtake. :-)

F. (who has been muttering obscene things far too much this last 2
weeks, but finally has a sitr that (almost) works the way he wants it
to)
