I am working on the translations to get it ready for the translation
company and in the file report there is this information about the
English files
10 locales/en
Folder: locales/en
Language-Name: English
Total missing strings: 2070
Total modified strings: 0
• locales/en/LC_MESSAGES/plonefrontpage.po [missing strings: 1]
[modified strings : 0]
• locales/en/LC_MESSAGES/plonelocales.po [missing strings: 1]
[modified strings : 0]
• locales/en/LC_MESSAGES/plone.po [missing strings: 2068] [modified strings : 0]
what to do with the English version?
as wrote before i am working with the translation company to have all
files upgraded and hope to have all the files totally checked and
tranlated.
Warm greetings,
Ofer Weisglass

No translation should be done here, as it does not give an added value
and will only increase the chance that an outdated 'translation' will
stick around in the po file if this is not updated properly.
The English po files are only there for technical reasons. IIRC if you
have a site that supports both English (as primary language) and for
example Dutch as second language, and your browser is set to accept
Dutch but prefer English, then the English text will only show up if
there is an English po file. It does not matter that those strings are
not translated.

"Logical thinking shows conclusively that logical thinking
is inconclusive." - My summary of Gödel, Escher, Bach
as I already explained in private mail to Ofer, that was a
misunderstanding. Some time ago (when this discussion started) I
provided a document with some statistics for help him in his attempt to
update many languages. That document was made with a simple/stupid bash
script that collect all languages, it make some grep and then it write
as output a ReST file (given to the all-mighty sphinx) . I just forgot
to specify to ignore the English language in that report. :)
Cheers,
Giacomo

about proff reading with the translation companies they work by hour.
I talked with them today and not sure what is better to do
first to do the proff reading on the files or first finish the missing values.
one more question is if possible to have the values by xml file.
