Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share a small update with everyone. After some of my initial questions around the Plivo offering I've been spending quite a bit of time with it lately. I must tell you I love what I see and it's all starting to make more sense. Looks like we're actually going to be making the switch to Plivo from our previous vendor which I'm excited about. Kudos to everyone, you've put together a great product thus far...thanks for that!

I have a question as I'm getting a bit deeper into the integration process and am thinking through different ways to architect our product. I'm looking to implement large conference calls for our company with one primary organizer and multiple 'muted' participants. From previous conversations it sounds like I don't have to worry too much about rate limiting, but should I be aware of any timing issues that I may want to plan around for dialing in a large number of listeners on a call. For example, let's say we have 1,000 listeners who have agreed to be on a call that the president of our company has scheduled. My initial thoughts were to initiate the call to the organizer, and then dial in everyone else placing them all in the same conference call as they arrive. Should I be aware of how long it might take to get those 1,000 listeners into the conference call? Perhaps I should initiate the call differently by dialing in the listeners first and allowing them to listen to hold music before dialing in the call organizer?

Thanks in advance for any help.

With conferences that large the issue may be more of data speed. If on a local network may not be an issue, but if remote your going to need some good bandwidth. An option to consider especially if you have mainly listeners is to have regional conference numbers set up, and then have the main conference bridged or using shoutcast streamed to the other conference bridges as played sound or even to users listening via their browsers.

A bit more to setup but may ensure a better outcome for all the listeners.

Thanks Mike! Your response got me thinking about some different options...I really appreciate it. The streaming option seems to make a lot of sense so I'm going to give some more thought to what might be feasible from that perspective.

I'll be sure to update the list once I make some headway.
