self hosting Plivo instance than using Plivo.com service

I thought that with Plivo I can host my instance than using plivo.com cloud services when developing my application?

Is plivo.com have a very different api or "features" than whats available on the open source version?

Not really Dead.

Lots of the cloud based stuff is very similar to the self hosted stuff, its not 100% api compatible but its close enough that you can write your app and then deploy on the cloud with minor tweaking.

What exactly are you having trouble with?
