Hi All

I have recently been working on writing a light weight IDE that would
provide Scala support and integrate the Play framework. It is an IDE
for Scala written in Scala. The first version is available at
https://github.com/asinghal/SlateIDE

I have used Scala 2.8.1, Play 1.2.3 and Sun JDK 1.6 for the same.

Please do take a look and let me know of what you think. As always,
contributions and criticism are most welcome!

Thanks and Best regards
Aishwarya

Has anyone tried this?

I am waiting to hear of some feedback myself :-) In case it matters, I
am using it for active coding these days.

Hi Rakesh

I have uploaded some screenshots at https://github.com/asinghal/SlateIDE/wiki/Screenshots.
Some functions like formatting of files, auto intendentation and
organising imports can not be captured in pictures, so I'll do a video
too. I would be actively looking at improving the IDE, so any
feedback, or contributions are welcome!

Best regards
Aishwarya

Hi thanks for this tool I start using it and I will give you my
feedback asap.

Two notes about *nix version :
1- need to remove the famous ^M
2- use -J-Xmx512m and not -Xmx512M

Best regards

Hi All

For those interested, I have just released a version 0.2 of Slate that
now includes static code analysis of Scala code. Hence, the IDE helps
identify private/ local methods and variables, helping reduce the
amount of dead code in your source code.

@Slim Ouertani, the issues pointed out should be fixed now. Please
check and let me know.

Best regards
Aishwarya
