Hi all,

The Play 1.1 release is eventually out!
It comes with a new website for http://www.playframework.org, we hope
better organized.

The release notes for the 1.1 version are still here:
http://www.playframework.org/documentation/1.1/releasenotes-1.1
and you can download the binary release here:
http://download.playframework.org/releases/play-1.1.zip

On the new website you will find a new area called 'Code snippets',
http://www.playframework.org/community/snippets, where everyone can
share Play
code snippets with the community.

We've also updated some of important modules to be ready for the 1.1 release:

- Scala 0.8
- GAE 1.1
- SASS 1.1

Have fun with this new version!

Guillaume.

Congratulations! (But I just submitted a bug for 1.1RC3!)

Very nice new site! It's much easier to navigate now. And congrats on the 1.1 release.

One minor suggestion: please get rid of the drop shadows on the website's text. Drop shadows always make it really hard to read text.

Hi,

congrats to the whole team around play, incredible work in the last months!

I especially like the "Events" page, which shows the rising interest in play - an "articles" page could be nice as well, I am pretty sure the density of article releases will rise soon.

Waiting for more nice stuff to come up to manifest play in the webapps world in the next months.

Congratulation, you improve the possibilities to contribute!
Only missing the old rss-feed http://planet.playframework.org/feed so
that I don't need to collect all feed one by one.
Is it still possible and I don't see the link or will it become
possible in the near future?

Nice to see the new version available and online.
It has many great improvements and is a huge step towards wider adoption.

Very well done.

I cannot tell you how much of a difference your work has had on my
every day life. Since switching to Play, my family and friends see me
more often, I spent more time working out, my boss is surprised how
fast I can get his new ideas done, my entire team can react way faster
on bug-reports, feature requests and overall feedback. Thank you for
creating Play. THANKS!

Congratulations!

Btw I am unable to use my OpenID to login into module development.
Anyone else have this problem?

Congratulations!

Great work, It's the first java web framework I'm willing to adopt...

The site is much better organized, and it has more information
available

(I like the green, but the palette chosen is much too light for me,
please consider choosing a darker one...)

The snippets area looks great (I think that very soon it will need
some tagging system)

I think it would be great to add a play! wiki, may be with some
initial structure laid out...

saludos

Congratulations! I've been tracking 1.1 for a while with the Scala
module and I couldn't be happier.

The new site also looks great, although I think the previous video
tutorial demonstrated the simplicity of the framework more
effectively.

Keep up the great work!
