******** Postdoctoral Position in Machine Learning and Computer Vision*********

The School of Computing at the University of Dundee seeks applicants for a research position to develop algorithms for a situated prompting systems for activities of daily living (ADL) that adapts to a user. The successful candidate will work on algorithms in computer vision, machine learning and reinforcement learning.
The successful candidate will ideally hold a PhD in a related discipline, and should have in-depth knowledge of one or more of the following areas: computer vision, machine learning, probabilistic models, decision theoretic models (esp. MDPs and POMDPs), or reinforcement learning.
The work will take place in the context of two projects funded by the American Alzheimer's Association under the Everyday Technologies for Alzheimer's Care (ETAC) program. The first focuses on the development of an assistive device to facilitate creative expression for persons with Alzheimer's disease. The second is the ongoing development of the COACH handwashing assistant.
The successful candidate will be based at the School of Computing at the University of Dundee in Scotland, and will join the Computational Systems group there, a large and dynamic group of researchers in machine learning, multi-agent systems, and computer vision. The candidate will collaborate extensively with the project partners at the University of Toronto, Canada. This fixed-term post is available immediately for a period of 12 months, with a potential for a further 12 months conditional on funding.
