Would it be possible to implement a way of marking files as
"favorites" (or something similar) for easy access? I am accumulating
loads of files and organizing them in folders is great, but I need a
way to keep track of the few that I am working with at any given time
for easy access.

This isn't something we have planned to add, no (sorry).

Two options for the current version:

1. Change sorting to 'by modified' to keep recently-edit documents at the top of the list (Settings > Advanced > Sort By…)

2. Add some tagging text to the document's name or in the text itself (such as @review or anything that wouldn't pop up casually). Then when you want to focus on current, 'tagged' documents, such do a search for that term (magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the documents list). Only files containing that search query will show up in the documents list.
