Hello all,

This Sunday is the day of our rally at Merle Bell's farm outside Waterloo, Iowa, the proposed site of a 750MW coal-fired power plant.  Merle promised his father he'd never sell and we mean to help him keep that promise!  The rally flyer and press release are attached.  Below are the schedule for the rally and the top 10 reasons to attend (there are many more, but we had to edit).  Please forward this info to all your friends and contact lists.  It's getting to be crunch time in Waterloo - please come out this weekend to stand with local farmers and residents and help save Merle's farm!  Together we can create a better future for Iowa.

Top 10 Reasons to Attend the Save Merle Bell's Farm Rally

10. The plant is the equivalent of putting over 700,000 additional cars on the road.
9. Waterloo's elevated asthma rates will get even worse if this plant is built.
8. Iowa depends on coal for 85% of its electricity when 50% is the national average.
7. Free pop and live music!
6. Seventeen neighboring farm families publicly oppose the plant too.
5. Our grandchildren might want to see polar bears one day.
4. It is bad manners to go to someone else's state and build a big dirty coal plant.
3. Hundreds of pounds of additional mercury will settle into our rivers, our fish, and ultimately our own bodies.
2. Iowans believe in clean energy.
1. A century farm is better than a giant smokestack.  Period.
