Direct Client Position

Scope of Project: The  Department has several projects currently running and ongoing operational work that have an immediate need for a Database Administrator (DBA) with a background in SQL Server technologies (SQL Server 2005/2008). This position is responsible for working in test and production environments, building, upgrading, and configuring databases. Create, configure and maintain SQL jobs, troubleshoot the interaction of web-based and Windows applications and reports. Execute ad-hoc queries and generate reports for users in a timely manner. Collaborate with team members to create and modify stored procedures associated with applications and reports.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design, build, implement, secure and maintain databases for development, test and production environments. Work with team to identify and analyze performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
2. Write and modify scripts & stored procedures (e.g.: SQL, PHP) for database access or reporting.
3. Ability to efficiently problem solve and analyze a variety of problems, assess risks and implement solutions while adhering to security standards.
4. Participate in cross-training activities to achieve a comfort level supporting data collection servers, as well as cross-train other team members on DBA responsibilities.
5. Work with cross-functional teams to support customer requests as appropriate.
6. Other database duties as assigned.
7. Report progress weekly to management and project manager.
