Hi Guys,
I'm Dan Karaczun, or CyclingDan. I started riding an upright after my
heart attack. It brought back all the fun I had growing up in "flat"
Chicago when I was a kid. I started and mainly keep to the trails due
to my age. I like flat. I own a Cycle Genius Falcon LS which I like
plus a Fuji upright hybrid. My wife rides an Easy Racers EZ-3 due to
the fact that she never had a bike as girl growing up and lived on a
steep hill in Munhall paved in cinder.
I have three adult children and two grandkids that I bought bikes for.
Ryan is almost 4 and Kalina is 2. My son, Alex, we call him Sasha is a
PC geek at Shadyside Hospital and rides a Felt roadie and likes long
rides. I'm trying to get my whole family out on bikes and am winning
the battle one person at a time.
I retired from the Post-Gazette in September 08 as their Color
Specialist and have been in Macintosh graphics since 1985. I recently
joined the REI team at the new Settler's Ridge store. Mostly young
people there but they accepted me with open arms so now I think I'm
only 50 again.
I have a website:
http://www.cyclingpa.com which was supposed to fill
in the retirement gaps but has only cost money to this point. So, I
work to save the money for an new tadpole trike that will keep me
cycling into my 90s, I hope. I hope to be able to do all the trails in
PA and get the GPS data, photos and video on my site so that people
can see if a trail is for them or not before driving a hundred miles
and be disappointed. It is also suppose to provide businesses along
the trail with an opportunity to get their message out at little or no
cost. Right now its no cost. Ads are free until I'm confident that the
content is worth it for them.
Since I'm not skilled in Google groups, I hope I didn't screw things
up and that this gets to Dan B.
