My ride report is available at http://randanneuring.blogspot.com/2008/08/eastern-pa-1000k-or-long-weekends.html.

Short version: It was great fun, I highly recommend it, and I'd do it again.

Long version: Well, read the ride report...

Dan, This is amazing, simply amazing, maybe not entirely healthy (are
you in therapy yet?), an accomplishment I can't even fathom.

Does Lightning Cycles know about this? You might want to call them/send
a link to this page (too bad there aren't any pictures of you & the
bike). I once called them about a mechanical problem & a real person
picked up the phone! And he knew about my problem!! They might be very
interested in your adventures.

Heh...believe it or not, it really wasn't THAT big a deal. :-)

Don't get me wrong...it's a lot of riding, but by building up to it over a few months with the 200, 300, 400, and 600, it was really just a matter of repeatedly doing what I had found to work with nutrition, hydration, and power output.

I fervently believe that anyone who can do a metric can do a brevet series; it's just a matter of finding what works for you, listening to your body, and always remembering that, if you just keep riding when you hit a low point, things do get better.

As far as pictures go, there's a link to Bill Beck's photos near the bottom of the post; he's got almost 250 pictures, and I'm actually in quite a few of them.
