I am on pins & needles & have been worry myself silly over a female from a recent rescue that came in a few weeks ago.
On May 4 a large group of rescue rats came in to Pittsburgh's Animal Rescue League.
On May 5 Lindsay went & picked them all up & brought them to me.
Out of all these rats three females have litters now which is not the cause of my worry ( though it should be, LOL ).... more »

Tumor or cyst?

Well it looks like Greta either has a tumor or a cyst on her back leg,
just below the tail root. It isn't blocking anything so she's able to pee
and poop normally. She doesn't appear to be in pain and it's not affecting
how she walks. Guess we'll be taking a trip to the vet tomorrow morning.

There is a Canadian-based pet supply chain in the US called PET VALU. They not only do not sell any live animals, but they have done outreach to animal rescues to give us free space to feature our rats to find more adopters. It has been very hard to get photos of them because they are extremely fearful & don't come out if a person was watching them. Finally after having them almost 2 weeks they are starting to settle in & be a little more secure.... more »

THAT is soo sad I have seen it before though I got my Twiggy from a place
here in Wooster, they are closed down now and moved somewher else. I wanted
to saveall the rats but could only save one.I FELL IN LOVE with her shes

My son and I went to a little family owned pet store today to see if we
could find some Oxbow for the girls. While there, we decided to look at
their rats. When I asked the woman where to find the rats at, she looked
at me and said "I think we have a couple." and took us to a hot room filled
