Getting at User's Account (for Timezone Settings)

Is there a way to get to the related account from the request.user
object? I'm trying to localize dates and what I'd like to is something
like:

entry.logtime|localtime:user.account.timezone

That isn't supported yet, but in templates you should be able to write:

entry.logtime|localtime:account.timezone
