Feature request, question about swapping from private_project to company_project + social_project

Hello to the list,

I'm a new user of pinax and after just a few hours I got up and running a
private beta project, I customized it and get "in touch" with what was
given.

I'd like to ask if is possible to "swap" from the private beta project to
other projects like the company or the social project ( or anything else
bundled)
I suppose I have to poke the installed apps and the merge the templates(or
of course make it from scratch), am I on the right track or is there some
shortcut?

I also whould like to ask if is possible to add the flatpage app to edit
as admin the about, the terms of service and those kind of steady pages.
I'm on that right now...

There is no defined path on how to switch projects in Pinax. While we can provide suggestions of what to do, coming up with official pinax migration paths would mean maintaining 55 migration paths. 10 projects means 55 possible combinations - if I chose the right algorithm. ;)
 
Also, those migrations would become problematic for developers trying to use them if they changed their Pinax projects in any way. Remember, Pinax is not a set of configuration changes like Yahoo or Google sites, rather a framework on top of Django.

That said, what you are trying to do sounds like a good path to handling your migration.  :)

Also, the projects are just starting points. There's nothing stopping you from starting with private_beta_project or basic_project then adding a few apps used in social_project. In fact, that's what's intended.

For example, just the other day, I started with the new company_project and added projects to it. This morning I added a new groups app similar to tribes but without photos. Next up, I plan to write a custom profile app for the site.
