Any new advice on how from 0.7 to 0.9?

Is a in-place upgrade even possible or is my best bet to start fresh
with 0.9 and bring stuff over?
Any suggestion or words of wisdom are greatly appreciated :)

Start fresh and bring stuff over - that's essentially what 0.9 itself is.
