I'm working on new project, that will want a bunch of apps that are
part of the Pinax ecosystem in one way or another. Some of them used
to be parts of the Pinax ecosystem, and have apparently been
replaced. Or not.

I'm talking about the apps on http://pinaxproject.com/ecosystem/

1. Why (appear to) replace working apps that used to be part of Pinax
projects with new ones that are at best stubs, that appear to lack the
coder commitment to move them forward?

For example: http://oss.eldarion.com/dialogos/docs/0.1/

2. Which of those apps has real commitment, and which ones should just
revert to the apps that used to be part of Pinax?

For example: https://github.com/HonzaKral/django-threadedcomments

3. Why were the previous apps sorta replaced? What was wrong with
them?

4. What's the problem with the sorta-replacements that are not making
progress? Just lack of coder power? Or was the replacement a bad
idea from the git? (And we as an ecosystem should go back to the
previous ones and fix whatever was wrong, if anything...)
