ADVANCE TAX ON PURCHASE OF DOMESTIC AIR TICKETS

It has come to our notice that some stations are applying 5 % on "Base Fare" and not on the "Gross Amount" as advised.

 

1. Please ensure that 5 % is collected on the "Gross Amount" i.e. Fare plus taxes/ charges in order to avoid any short collection.

 

2. With reference to free tickets issued under Award Plus Scheme, since 5 % applies on "Gross Fare" it should be calculated on the amount collected i.e. fare, if any and taxes.

 

Please inform all concerned for compliance.
