What are the benefits of REE for Passenger + Sinatra deployments ?

Hi,

I read here: http://www.modrails.com/documentation/Users%20guide%20Apache.html#reducing_memory_usage
that reduced memory usage do not apply for rack-based deployment
(sinatra).

Do the other benefits of REE still apply ?
