Hi,

I'm seeing this with 1.8.7-p248 built with --enable-pthread and
passenger 2.2.8:

DAV/2 Phusion_Passenger/2.2.8 configured -- resuming normal operations

I just did an update and I'm also seeing segfaults. They happen only
if I enable Passenger and the segfaults occur even if I request a
vhost that isn't using passenger.

I've tried the 2.2.8 release from source and a github pull.

You should disable Passenger and then access vhosts (not using passenger) and I am sure they would work. Its only when apache tries to load in the passenger module.

I think this is a bug. I would like to investigate it further when I get sometime :o(

What you can do is, follow the link: http://httpd.apache.org/dev/debugging.html and get the bracktraces and post them here: http://code.google.com/p/phusion-passenger/issues/detail?id=163

You could consider downngrading to the older version or you could try nginx if you are pressed for time or even better you can have a go at it and fix it for the community. ;o)
