I've been happily running RC6 for a couple of weeks now, but my entire site went down last night with this error:

error_log.1:[Sun Apr 28 00:43:01 2013] [notice] seg fault or similar nasty error detected in the parent process

I'd love to send you a stack trace, but I don't know how to find out where the seg fault was.

Just a follow-up to this. There was a line preceding this one in the log. We're still investigating, but we think monit might have tried to restart apache with a SIGHUP, and Passenger didn't handle it correctly.

[Sun Apr 28 00:43:01 2013] [notice] SIGHUP received. Attempting to restart

[Sun Apr 28 00:43:01 2013] [notice] seg fault or similar nasty error detected in the parent process

It wasn't that long ago that we've stress tested restarting Apache + Phusion Passenger under high load.

Can you try this guide to get Apache crash logs? http://httpd.apache.org/dev/debugging.html
