Unable to Compile SAM

Can anyone help me with the following error when installing SAM using
"pecl install sam"?

checking for sam support... yes, shared
checking for sam xms support... yes, shared
checking for sam xms files in default path... found in /opt
checking for xmsConnFactCreate in -lgxi... no
configure: error: wrong sam XMS lib version or lib not found
ERROR: `/tmp/tmpTNaP4N/SAM-1.1.0/configure' failed

I checked the make files and it looked like the XMS lib file was
found, but a certain function the make file expected was not there. I
have WebSphere MQ 7.0 Trial installed on CentOS as well as the XMS
components downloaded according to instructions on the doc

Just in case anyone else is looking for the solution to this issue.
I've found that it's trying to use the 32-bit version of the XMS
library file when my OS is 64-bit. I changed the config.m4 file to
look for the path /opt/IBM/XMS/lib64 instead of /opt/IBM/XMS/lib and
it now compiles fine.
