The North-West Behat Users Group is a group of people who want to learn
more about Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) using Behat and other
tools created to support software testing, like Selenium, Sahi,
PhantomJS etc. Behat is a relatively new BDD tool written for PHP by
Konstantin Kudryashov (@everzet). The aim of the group is to promote BDD
best practices through presentations, meetings and bootcamps; and to
share the experience of using Behat.

The first meeting of the group will take place at MadLab in Manchester
(36-40 Edge Street, Manchester, M4 1HN) on 14th May at 18:30. Everyone
interested is welcome to attend.

Our guest speaker for this first meeting will be Konstantin Kudryashov
himself, talking about an introduction to Behat covering what Behat is,
what people should be using it for, and how to use it.

Hi Mark,
This is excellent news, I was lucky enough to be around in London and attend the first Behat meet up, I'm so glad there's a group starting up in Manchester - it's really worth getting along to meet Konstantin and I'm sure this will be an excellent way to get started with BDD.

Regards,

Chris

It did seem a good idea to get the author himself up for an opening talk. I don't know how many people in the NW will be interested enough in attending a Behat/BDD user group, it's still all pretty new to a lot of people... but hopefully Konstantin talking about his own product will be enough of a draw to attract interest, and I know that he's very enthusiastic and eager to meet people who do actually use Behat
