Hi All,

We've created an EventBrite page at http://phpne2phpnw12.eventbrite.com/
with 20 tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis.

These tickets are for a space on the free minibus (provided by the
PHPNE community group) from Newcastle to Manchester for the PHPNW 2012
Conference, it's just the minibus seat, a conference ticket is not
included, neither is hotel accommodation. Conference tickets have not
yet been made available to purchase, but, the dates have been
confirmed by the organisers.

The number of seats available on the minibus is subject to change;
once we have a rough idea of how many people are wanting to travel,
we'll arrange the most appropriately sized minibus and make further
more specific arrangements for a meeting time and place.

PLEASE only book a ticket if you are 100% committed to attending the
conference and are wishing to travel in a group (this may mean leaving
later/earlier than you normally would, and, it may mean waiting until
later on Sunday to travel home).

The conference is one of the best PHP conferences in the world and the
tickets are very good value. If anyone has any questions about the
travel arrangements as they currently stand, please contact me.

Thanks

Andrew

Hi all.

Firstly, I would like to express my thanks for this very generous offer Andrew.

RE schedule, how about...

Friday 5th October 2012

Pickup: 18:00, Newcastle Central Station
Pickup: 18:55-19:15, Bradbury Services
Drop-Off: 20:45-21:15, Manchester Piccadilly

Sunday 7th October

Pickup: 15:00, Manchester Piccadilly
Drop-Off: 16:55-17:15, Bradbury Services
Drop-Off: 17:45-18:15, Newcastle Central Station

I'm sure the timings are way off, but lets use these as a starter for 10.

I know we have a few folk travel from Teesside, so Bradbury services seems good for them?

Anthony.

Hi.

Given it's a been a week, is it safe to assume no one has anything else to add/suggest?

Anthony.

Hi James.

The conference ticket is usually £70/£80, and then you'd have accommodation of course.

Anything else you need? :-D

Hi!

I will be doing some of the blogging on the PHPNW12 conference site and as such I have a little inside information. So I thought it would be good to throw out a few facts as the website isn't quite ready yet :)

The conference itself will consist of a full day of talks on the Saturday and a half day of talks on the Sunday. There are usually parties on the Friday and Saturday night with a free bar (for as long as it lasts) on the Saturday night. I'm not sure if the ticket prices have been finalised yet, but blind and early bird tickets will be in the £85-£95 region. There will also be a tutorial day (at extra cost) on the Friday.

There are a couple of deals available on hotels meaning that with a conference ticket you can get a cheap hotel room very nearby as well.

Keep an eye on the @phpnw12 twitter steam for news and announcements :)

Thanks,

Phil Norton

If you are short of people for the bus we could mention it at tonight's SuperMondays event.

Thanks Alistair, I realise it's too late now but I just thought I'd reply. We actually haven't arranged the bus yet so we're flexible on numbers. If we get more than that allocated 20 tickets (unlikely!) we'll get a bigger bus. If we stay at 9, we'll get a smaller one. Conference tickets haven't been released yet so we'll know more nearer the time. We're not dependent on getting a certain number of seats before we book.

Thanks again

Andrew

Myself and the rest of the Ground Six development team are staying at the Britannia Sachas hotel.  Its not got a good rating on trip advisor, but the rooms are only £50/night ( http://conference.phpnw.org.uk/phpnw12/hotels/ ) hopefully with a bit of alcohol on the Friday and Saturday evenings the quality of the hotel won't be an issue :-)

Really looking forward to the conference - especially with such a big North East delegation; should be a good weekend!

Michael
