Hello all.

I'm looking for a way to start delveoping some of the ideas I have for
some iPad apps before I get my mac.

Is there a way to do this in eclipse or some other windows editor? I
will have a mac when its time for device testing and deploy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

To do iOS development, you will need a Mac.

However, to develop your ideas, you don't say what tools you'll be
using. For example, for your browser UI.

Thanks.

My thought was that since phonegap is based on html, css and
javascript, I could start a project in eclipse or some other tool and
start working on some of the GUI and javascript functions.
I guess if it was an iPhone i could start with an Android project and
then copy the code when I get my Mac. But since this is an iPad
project, I'm wondering if this is possible.

Yes, that should work as long as you're using only standard JS and CSS
stuff that's supported on both platforms. You only insert the HTML/JS/
CSS files into your iOS Xcode project, not anything else from the
Eclipse project.

Note that with a Mac, you can develop for both iOS (Xcode) and Android
(Eclipse).

Thanks.

You could but won't have access to device specific functions of course. You could try the Ripple (Chrome browser) extension, I think it supports PhoneGap functions in the browser (or at least stubs it out). No plugins also...

I'd stick to NotePad or some other text editor plus a copy of Safari
for Windows and stub out the PhoneGap calls.
