phonegap on an "ordinary" website ?

hi there,
i just started my first phonegap app and i love it. i am a newbie in
JS and jQuery but getting into it and the first results for me
are a milestone :D

I just have a simple question: is it possible to use the jQuery mobile
also on an ordinary website?
Does getCamera also work with simple webcams so that i could for
example develop a webcam app ?

Just curious if this might work in theory or if i am on a weird
path :D

You can use jquery mobile in a web site

Obviously you can not access to the device. But for example html5 permit to store data via fileapi without access to a mobile device.
