List of apps/music installed on device

Is there any way to get the list of currently installed apps on a device in either android or iphone?

How about for music files?

Well for Android you'll need to write some Java code. See this

on iOS you have mediaPicker (just like for photos).
No way to directly retrieve installed apps for obvious reasons
although one workaround could be if the app can app specific url
schemes?
