Call external URL from PhoneGap App

I want to be able to upload data to a website from withing my phonegap
app...can someone point me in the right direction?

or just use AJAX to send data to your web server.

After looking through teh FileTransfer docs, It appears to be
useful...

How do you go about doing the AJAX calls with PhoneGap? I don't see
any 'web' related topics in the API.

Just use AJAX as normal - the only thing special about PhoneGap is it
can talk to any url as its base url is a file.
