How to start development using phonegap????

Dear PhoneGap Users,

i m new to phongap. I do have knowledge of HTML,JavaScript and CSS and AJAX.

I have installed phonegap simulator. its works fine. 

Give me step by step instructions on how to start development. I m having so many requirements for cross platform development.

Which IDE i should use. Which are the essential files for every platform. How to make archive compatible to specific platform?

which are the different .ext for each platform???

Which javascrip files must be available to different archives for each platform?

Can i put .php or .jsp or any other dynamic language file inside archive???

 Do i need SDK for each platform to make each archive compatible to their platform???

It will be great help if some one with snapshots tell me above things.

The IDE depends on which operating system you are running and which platform you are working on. For example I would use eclipse if I was coding for android and I would use Xcode if I was coding for iPhone. You could make one set of HTML and java-script files and use it on all the phones but you would probably want to test and tweak each one. If you wanted to develop for the android and the iphone I would recommend that you install both sdk's so you can test your application on both.

You can not put .php or .jsp files on the iphone but you can host them on a server and use AJAX to make calls.
