Can't say I've ever experienced a problem like that on Android…

Does the issue occur in all orientations (or only some)? How about a screenshot so we can see how far off the display is. Also, what version of OS/PG and devices are you trying it on?

I'm builidng a demo app using phonegap and Jquery Mobile.  When I use ripple in Chrome, things look fine, but when I put in on a Virtual Android Tablet or my own tablet, the top header is off the page.

I've tried various techniques, like delaying the display until both I get the mobileinit and deviceready messages, but it is still of the screen.  I even tried refreshing the page 5 seconds later, but to no avail.

The weird thing is that if I change the orientation of the virtual table or the real tablet, things look fine.  If I rotate it back, they still look fine.

I can't imagine I'll the only person with this problem.  Any ideas?

It occurs in both orientations on multiple virtual devices.  The point about the orientations was that as soon as I change the orientation, everything is fine.  In other words, the problems is just with the initial display,  It seems like it doesn't have the right screen size, and displays everything wrong.  Any ideas?
