On May 7th Twitter plans on turning off API 1.0 and removing basic authentication for the streaming API. I am updating my open source 140dev  framework code and all of my client code to work with 1.1. I have no problem switching to single-user OAuth instead of basic auth, but I am curious about the underlyling Phirehose.php library. I see that it still calls API 1.0 on line 20:

I have modified my copy to read:

This seems to work fine. Shouldn't the master copy on Github be updated now as well?

Hey Adam,

Thanks for the heads up! If this is the only change required it sounds pretty simple. However, if basic auth is going away, it's probably prudent we remove all references to basic auth to reduce confusion.

I'm incredibly flat out right now and may not have time to look at it right now - if one of the repo-colabs would like to do it, or someone would like to fork and send a pull request I'm more than happy to merge in ASAP.

Cheers!

  Fenn.

I just did it (*), pushed to one of my live servers, and no problems.
The change is on github now.

*: Nothing more than changing /1/ to /1.1/ in the URL.
