Kori, I am going to test MATE simply because I have it installed on a few
other distros but this may seem like a dumb question but do I need to add
something other than "unsupported" to your repo? say something like
"testing? thanks.

okay well, I installed everything I could find or think of related to MATE
but when I try to log in to the MATE session, I just get a black screen
with a busy cursor. I must of missed some packages.

in terminal run marco --replace ... that should give you your window borders back and resolve desktop glitches ... if that doesnt work ... install metacity for now until i can figure out what has happened
this is running really slowly like the cpu is at 100%
here's what I got when I ran maro --replace
